The Neon Museum – Las Vegas

Another immersion in this awesome Neon Museum, and my last post on Las Vegas … I was very happy talking to you about Sin City for the nth time ! During my next trip there, I’ll be ready to take on vintage stores. The lady who is head of the museum told me there’s quite a few really nice little stores in the genuine Vegas (and not the Strip ).

THE OUTFIT
The Neon Museum

Well, as you may have noticed in my last post, I love Vegas …The reason of our stay there (except for pancakes & the casino) was also to visit the Neon Museum. Of course, you can visit the museum but you can hire it outside opening hours too, so you can make photo shoots ( completely alone, a dream ! ).
We booked it online and, what a surprise, we received an heart-warming answer. They follow my blog and love it, they would be very happy to welcome us. I felt even more in tune with this amazing city ! Knowing that my blog is read as far away as the Neon Museum, is just crazy (enough said about my pride ^^).
Voilà, I told you that there’s not much to do in Vegas, well it seems it’s just the opposite, this museum is amazing and moving as well, as you find there old vintage neon signs. It’s like a short time travel. Til tomorrow for the next part of the trip !

Las Vegas mon Amour

Las Vegas : my favourite city in the world. Why ? Surely not to live there, ooh no ! My favourite city, a place just to get away for a few days. I had this incredible feeling the first time I went to Vegas, and other times too : freedom !
It may seem weird to say so but not that much …
Las vegas is a legendary city and turned out to be in accordance with what I’ve imagined. And what I’ve imagined was crazy …
Las Vegas is evil ! This city, built by the mafia in the middle of the desert, run dry the scarce water tables resources. It’s dreadfully hot and air conditioning is at full blast all the time, the 5-stars hotels are huge and measure several acres. Each hotel is an amusement park /mall /concert hall …
The city never sleeps and once you’re in your hotel ( I mean, city), you can’t tell the difference between night and day. Fake skies, lighting …
You can eat anywhere, anytime, all-you-can-eat 24/7. It’s evil, isn’t it ? And I like that. Vegas, a city with redneck people … And you know what ? I’m a part of it !! I forget everything, I overconsume, I don’t think of anything anymore in my suite on the top floor of the Bellagio hotel, I ask for pancakes to the room service at 4.am, I walk along the street without worrying about my outfit nor my possible bulges ( Gah ! it’s because of the pancakes ^^).
I walk around in the casino and the incessant melody of the slot machines makes my head spin. ( I already told you last time about that).
The activities in Las vegas ? You can take a walk from a hotel to another, eat, shoot with real bullets, spend your money futilely in slot machines, be in a completely fake environment, copies of big cities… You can get married at midnight for real in a kitsch chapel with a priest dressed up as Elvis and leave in a neon pink limo (August13, 2012 ^^ top-secret pictures).
This is my Vegas … an experience, addictive, I like this sensation of pleasure totally egotistic. Staying there 2 nights, is perfect … Then you get bored and begin to feel guilty :D
